MESSAGE
Human beings are used to building houses; God builds people. The Bible says that no matter how well a person builds a house, he/She labours in vain unless God builds it. The house cannot stand without God. Our families and lives cannot thrive well without God.
The will of God is well revealed in Genesis chapters 1 and 2. God wanted Adam and Eve to live happily in a beautiful house. So, He made the Garden of Eden where there was no harm or pain and where everything was fully equipped so they could reside there. God said to Adam and Eve, *"You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge
of good and evil."* The verse shows God's providence and will. God wanted
Adam and Eve to obey His words, to welcome His presence, and to worship Him in the house He built.
Adam and Eve, however, rejected God's instruction in building their house of life. They built it according to their own will. They took the fruit from the tree
of the knowledge of good and evil, which symbolized God's authority. What
was the result? Love disappeared between them, and they started blaming
each other. They had to eat their food by the sweat of their brow and return
to the ground from which they had been taken. Therefore, those who build
their house of life without God will live a vain life.
Walk with God by worshipping Him and depending on Him, then your house of
life will be the house that God builds. The house that you and God build
together will not shake even in the rain, storm or flood. The builder's labour
will not be in vain but will be fruitful and meaningful. God will preserve your life and all that pertains to you. Do not put your trust elsewhere.
