Only God makes it happen
Men can never be bereft of ideas and plans. As the mind works on how to move ahead and survive the challenges that confront man, ideas and schemes will continue to be generated. Human wants and needs that should be satisfied and met constantly demand that man works and many times struggles to attain his goals. No doubts there will be obstacles and oppositions to be overcome to get to the desired dreams and aspirations. One thing comes out clear: Not all hopes are accomplished, no matter how lofty and desirable they may be. Some may be positive and others may be negative. But they all get past human control and man has to adjust and rely on powers beyond him. This applies whether for good or for evil.
It is important to realize that man is powerless to create the ends that he so cherishes and struggles to attain. He may go so far on his own and become boastful and proud of the heights of glory he has reached. But, like the rich fool of Luke 12, he can only have the much that God allows him to have.
Many struggles end up in misery and disappointment because man shoves the owner and shaper of destiny aside thinking to make his plans work by himself. It will only lead to more frustrations. The doctors and their medicines have their limitations. So also do all the powerful men the world can boast of. If you can but recognize this reality and commit your plans, dreams and future to God through His Son Jesus, you will have little to worry about. What He determines about you can never be toppled by any other. If He has allowed it, no one can stop it. If He allows it not, no one can enforce it. Either way it is for your good this Gregorian month.
