THE GOOD SAMARITAN — A LOVE THAT STOPPED
THE GOOD SAMARITAN — A LOVE THAT STOPPED
Luke 10:33 (NIV)
“But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.”
On a lonely road filled with danger and dust, a man lay broken, beaten, and left for dead. His cries had faded into silence, his strength almost gone. One by one, people passed him—men who looked respectable, men who knew the law, men who had every reason to stop… but chose not to. They saw him, yet they walked away. Not because they couldn’t help, but because they wouldn’t.
Then came a Samaritan—a man society rejected, a man many would overlook. But when he saw the wounded stranger, something moved deep within him. He didn’t hesitate. He didn’t make excuses. He didn’t look away. Compassion took over. He knelt down, lifted the broken man with care, cleaned his wounds, and gave him water. In a world where others passed by, he chose to stop.
This is more than a story—it is a reflection of God’s heart. True love is not in words, titles, or appearances. It is revealed in action. It is seen in the moments we choose kindness when it’s inconvenient, mercy when it’s undeserved, and compassion when no one is watching. The Samaritan didn’t just feel pity—he acted on it.
Today, the road is still filled with wounded people—hurting, struggling, and silently crying for help. The question is not who will pass by… but who will stop. Be the one who shows love. Be the one who extends grace. Be the one who reflects God’s heart in a broken world.
