ELISHA’S FINAL MIRACLE: HOW HIS BONES RAISED A DEAD MAN FROM THE GRAVE

Elisha was one of the greatest prophets in Israel’s history.

Through him, God had performed incredible miracles—he multiplied oil for a widow, healed Naaman from leprosy, and even caused an axe head to float.

But his strangest miracle happened after he was already dead.

Years after Elisha was buried, a group of Israelites were carrying a dead man to his burial place. Suddenly, they saw enemy raiders approaching, and in fear, they quickly threw the body into the nearest tomb.

That tomb belonged to Elisha.

But the moment the dead man’s body touched the bones of the prophet, something impossible happened.

The dead man came back to life.

The Bible says:

“As soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet.” — 2 Kings 13:21

Think about that moment…

A man entered a grave as a lifeless body.

But he left standing alive.

Elisha had already been gone, but God was showing Israel something powerful:

The power of God does not depend on the life of a person. The One who worked through Elisha was still the same God—even after the prophet was buried.

This forgotten miracle reminds us that God can bring life out of places that look completely hopeless.

A grave became a place of resurrection.

A dead prophet’s bones became a reminder that God’s power never dies.
