THE BIGGEST LESSON HIDDEN IN EZEKIEL'S VALLEY OF DRY BONES
Most people think the greatest miracle in Ezekiel 37 was that dry bones came back to life.
It wasn't.
The greatest lesson is why God chose dry bones in the first place.
When God showed Ezekiel the valley, it wasn't filled with recently dead bodies.
The Bible says the bones were "very dry." (Ezekiel 37:2)
That detail changes everything.
These bones had been dead for a long time.
The flesh was gone.
The blood had disappeared.
Even hope had died.
To every human eye, there was absolutely nothing left to save.
Then God asked a question that sounded impossible:
"Son of man, can these bones live?" (Ezekiel 37:3)
Ezekiel didn't answer with confidence.
He didn't say yes.
He didn't say no.
He simply replied,
"Sovereign Lord, You alone know."
Then God did something no one would expect.
He didn't tell Ezekiel to gather the bones.
He didn't tell him to rebuild the skeletons.
He didn't tell him to search for doctors.
He told him to prophesy.
To preach...
...to dead bones.
Human logic says you speak to living people.
God told His prophet to speak to the dead.
Because God's Word doesn't depend on whether something is alive.
His Word creates life.
The moment Ezekiel obeyed, the valley exploded with the sound of resurrection.
A rattling echoed across the ground.
Bones began moving.
Skulls found necks.
Ribs connected.
Arms joined shoulders.
Legs found hips.
Skeletons stood together.
Then tendons appeared.
Muscles formed.
Skin covered every body.
But there was still no life.
They had the appearance of life...
...but not the breath of life.
Then God spoke again.
"Prophesy to the breath."
The breath of God entered them.
Instantly, an entire army stood on its feet.
What looked like the world's largest graveyard became God's mighty army.
That is the lesson.
God doesn't just restore what is weak.
He restores what everyone else has given up on.
Your dreams may look like dry bones.
Your marriage may look like dry bones.
Your health may look like dry bones.
Your faith may feel like dry bones.
But God is not limited by how long something has been dead.
The longer the valley, the greater the testimony.
The drier the bones, the greater the miracle.
When God speaks, time doesn't matter.
Decay doesn't matter.
Human opinion doesn't matter.
His voice is still powerful enough to call life out of death.
If God could transform a valley of scattered, lifeless bones into a mighty army, imagine what He can do with your situation.
Never mistake silence for absence.
Never mistake delay for denial.
And never call something dead that God has already planned to resurrect.
"So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army." — Ezekiel 37:10
