BEFORE GOD CAN USE YOUR VOICE, HE MUST FIRST PURIFY YOUR HEART!
BEFORE GOD CAN USE YOUR VOICE, HE MUST FIRST PURIFY YOUR HEART!
📖 “And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.” — Isaiah 6:7 (KJV)
Sometimes, we pray for God to use us mightily. We ask Him to give us a powerful voice, a greater ministry, a wider platform, and the opportunity to reach thousands or even millions of people. We want to preach His Word, lead souls to salvation, encourage the brokenhearted, and become vessels of His glory.
But are we willing to allow God to purify us before He promotes us?
BEFORE GOD USES YOUR VOICE TO CHANGE OTHERS, HE MAY FIRST DEAL WITH WHAT IS WRONG WITHIN YOU.
In Isaiah 6, the prophet Isaiah encountered the holiness of God. When he saw the Lord high and lifted up, he did not immediately boast about his calling. Instead, he became deeply aware of his own condition. He cried out, “Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips” (Isaiah 6:5, KJV).
Notice this powerful truth: Isaiah recognized his uncleanness in the presence of God's holiness.
Before Isaiah was sent to deliver God's message, his lips were touched by a live coal from the altar. This was a picture of cleansing and preparation for God's service.
🔥 GOD IS NOT ONLY CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT YOU SAY IN PUBLIC; HE IS ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT WHO YOU ARE IN PRIVATE.
You may have a beautiful voice, but is your speech pleasing to God? You may know how to preach, but are you willing to practice what you preach? You may have thousands of followers, but does your private life reflect the message you share? You may speak about holiness while secretly entertaining the very things that weaken your relationship with God.
A platform cannot replace purity. Popularity cannot replace prayer. Talent cannot replace obedience. And anointing is never an excuse to live carelessly before the Lord.
God is not looking merely for people who can speak eloquently. He desires servants who are willing to surrender their hearts, guard their tongues, humble themselves, and obey His Word.
YOUR MOUTH IS A GATEWAY. WHAT COMES OUT OF IT REVEALS WHAT IS HAPPENING WITHIN YOUR HEART.
If God is going to use your voice, let it speak truth instead of lies, encouragement instead of destruction, wisdom instead of foolishness, and grace instead of bitterness.
Let your words bring conviction without arrogance, correction without hatred, and truth without compromise. Never use your tongue to destroy the reputation of another person while claiming to represent the God of holiness.
Do not pray for a greater ministry while refusing to surrender your character. Do not ask God to enlarge your influence while ignoring His correction. Do not ask Him to open doors if you are unwilling to let Him remove the things in your life that hinder your walk with Him.
Sometimes, the preparation for a greater assignment begins with repentance. Sometimes, before God entrusts you with a message for others, He teaches you to listen to His voice and obey His instructions.
And sometimes, the most important work God does is not through your preaching, your singing, or your public ministry. It is the work He does in the secret place, where nobody applauds you, nobody recognizes you, and nobody sees your tears.
LET GOD CORRECT YOU BEFORE YOU CORRECT OTHERS. LET HIM CLEANSE YOU BEFORE YOU CLAIM TO REPRESENT HIS HOLINESS. LET HIM TEACH YOU BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO TEACH THE WORLD.
Remember, the goal is not to appear perfect before people. The goal is to remain humble and repentant before God. When He reveals an area that needs correction, do not harden your heart. Respond with humility. Confess your sins, turn away from wrongdoing, and allow His Word to shape your character.
The same God who calls His servants is also able to cleanse, restore, strengthen, and prepare them for His purpose.
And when God finally sends you, let your voice carry more than emotion. Let it carry truth. Let your life support your message. Let your character reflect the Christ you proclaim.
🙏 PRAYER:
Lord, search my heart and reveal anything in me that does not please You. Purify my thoughts, cleanse my speech, and teach me to use my words for Your glory. Deliver me from pride, gossip, bitterness, dishonesty, and every attitude that dishonors Your name. Give me a humble heart that accepts correction and a willing spirit that obeys Your Word. Do not allow me to desire a platform more than Your presence or recognition more than righteousness. Prepare me for whatever assignment You have for my life. Let my words bring truth, hope, conviction, and encouragement to those who hear them. May my life never contradict the message I proclaim. In Jesus' name, Amen!
🔥 POWERFUL REMINDER: Before you ask God to make your voice louder, ask Him to make your heart cleaner. Before you ask Him to send you to the nations, surrender yourself to His refining work. And when He calls you, go with humility, holiness, and unwavering obedience.
LORD, PURIFY MY LIPS, TRANSFORM MY HEART, AND USE MY LIFE FOR YOUR GLORY!
