WHEN WE DRAW OUR LAST BREATH, ONLY ONE THING MATTERS

WHEN WE DRAW OUR LAST BREATH, ONLY ONE THING MATTERS

Main Text: Romans 5:12; 6:23; 1 Corinthians 15:1–4; Ephesians 1:13

INTRODUCTION
Life is short, death is certain, and eternity is real. One day, every person will draw their last breath. Wealth, popularity, religion, and good works cannot save a dying sinner.
Under the Dispensation of Grace, our eternal destiny depends upon whether we have trusted the finished work of Jesus Christ.
The greatest question is not how long you will live, but whether you are saved before you die.

1. THE REALITY OF DEATH
Romans 5:12; 1 Corinthians 15:22
Death entered the world through Adam.
Every person is subject to physical death.
No earthly possession can prevent mortality.

2. THE REASON FOR DEATH
Romans 3:23; 6:23
All have sinned against God.
The wages of sin is death.
Sin reveals mankind's need for a Saviour.

3. THE REDEMPTION THROUGH CHRIST
Ephesians 1:7; Romans 3:24
Christ paid the price for our redemption.
His blood provides forgiveness of sins.
Salvation is found in Christ alone.

4. THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST
1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Romans 4:25
Christ died for our sins.
He was buried and rose again the third day.
His resurrection is essential to our salvation.

5. THE RECEPTION OF SALVATION
Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 4:5
Salvation is received by faith alone.
Good works and religious rituals cannot save.
Trust Christ's finished work, not your own righteousness.

6. THE REASSURANCE OF ETERNAL SECURITY
Ephesians 1:13–14; Romans 8:38–39
Believers are sealed by the Holy Spirit.
Nothing can separate us from God's love in Christ.
Our eternal security rests upon Christ's faithfulness.

7. THE REWARD OF ETERNAL LIFE
Romans 6:23; Philippians 3:20–21
Eternal life is God's free gift.
Believers have the hope of resurrection and glorification.
Our heavenly destiny is secured in Christ.

CONCLUSION
One day, your money will remain behind. Your possessions will belong to someone else. Your earthly achievements will become memories.
But your relationship with Jesus Christ has eternal significance.
In the present Dispensation of Grace, salvation is received by believing the Gospel of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.
The Book of Life is mentioned in Revelation 20:12–15. However, for the Body of Christ today, our direct doctrinal assurance is found in Paul's revelation concerning salvation by grace, spiritual sealing, and eternal security.
Do not wait until your last breath to consider eternity. Believe the Gospel of Grace today.
